The old dye house

The renovation of Hall 8 in the old textile factory of Bobinet in Trier, Germany, has led to the creation of a spacious and generously sunlit room, covered by a 20-meter long VELUX ridgelight. During daylight hours the window design produces an attractive light and shadow effect, making the room with its industrial décor an ideal place for creative thinking and social interaction.

The planning phase 

• Total renovation from March to September 2014
• Installation took place in May 2014 and was completed in four days by four craftsmen
• Building in operation 24 October 2014

• 44 VELUX Modular Skylights in a 40° ridgelight solution
• 41 fixed modules with 2-layer glazing units
• 3 electrically operated smoke venting modules with 2-layer glazing units
