From storage space to modern offices

An old warehouse proved to be the perfect basis for a unique, new office building at the Wortmann Headquarter in Detmold, Germany. The industrial decor gave the new office space an attractive raw quality, which was softened by the daylight from 18 VELUX ridgelight installations, spread across the enormous roof.

On the outside, VELUX installations were fitted with the Topfix VMS awning blind system from Renson. Topfix VMS is specifically developed to fit VELUX Modular Skylights and protects the interior against excessive solar heating.

The planning phase 

• Fire safety plan (Engels Ingenieure, Detmold) completed July 2014
• Installation started 11 November 2014 and ended 21 November 2014
• Total construction time, approx. 11 days
• Renovated building inaugurated 2 September 2015

• The construction group consisted of developer Wortmann Schuh-Holding KG and Dipl. Ing. (FH) Andre Rohde.
