Cold weather and snowy conditions can be tough on building components, not least roof windows. The VELUX snow window, is a new roof window design that is even more robust in cold and snowy climates.

Melt water protection

The new VELUX snow window is fitted with special gaskets, a special bottom frame cover and sealed screws. Together, these components minimise the risk of melt water penetration and make the window ideal in cold and snowy climates.

Keep the heat in

A triple glazed insulating glass unit (--66) keeps the outer surface temperature of the pane as low as possible. This prevents the snow from melting and thus minimises melt water build-up.

Water-resistant surface

The frame and the sash are made of thermo-modified timber with a polyurethane coating that provides a water-resistant and maintenance-free surface.
